    Vatican 2019: 25 Years Restoration of the Sistine Chapel

    This coin commemorates the restoration of the Sistine Chapel. In 1994, after a comprehensive restoration, dehumidifiers, air conditioning and filters were installed in the chapel, as the outdated technology was no longer able to cope with the growing number of visitors. After three years of construction, a completely new LED lighting system and a modern ventilation system have been completed.
